We hope that this newsletter finds you well as we approach the last few days of the year.

Thank you very much to everyone who participated in the Online Autumn Forum on Sunday, November 27.
We were very grateful to see so many faces online.

This year's theme was "The Cross-Cultural Workplace: Intercultural Communication,” and we enjoyed a keynote speech by Chairperson Masumi Ormandy, followed by a very enlightening panel discussion in cooperation with some members of our sister schools.

Today, we have the following updates.

We would like to confirm the following business days for the year-end holidays.

Business will close for 2022 at 17:00, December 23 (Fri).
Business will open for 2023 at 10:00, January 6 (Fri).

Important information related to orders and shipping of teaching materials:

• Orders placed by 14:00, December 23 (Fri) will be shipped within the year.

• Orders will be closed from December 24 (Sat) to January 5 (Thu).

• Normal business resumes from January 6 (Fri).

At present, our packages are being collected earlier than usual (the deadline for same-day shipping is 14:00). Please place orders with this in mind to help us fulfil your order in time. If you would like to place an order within December but have the shipping scheduled for January, please let us know.

We are pleased to announce the date and venue for the 2023 PLS Sister School Convention.

This year, we are particularly excited to also hold our 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Date: Sunday, May 28 2023

Place: Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center, Hamamatsucho Building (Tokyo)

We are pleased to announce the annual training and event schedule for the 2023 school year. The finalized calendar will be available on the sister school website shortly.

While we had been conducting our training seminars online for two years, this fall, we decided to resume in-person training with limited numbers of participants and coronavirus preventative measures. These were very successful, and attendees were able to take turns playing the role of the teacher and student. We were reminded that there is no substitute for in-person training.

Although the state of the pandemic remains unpredictable, we are moving forward, and planning to hold two-day, in-person teacher training seminars in both Tokyo and Osaka next year.  In the event it is unfeasible to host in-person training sessions, we will switch back to online seminars. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Tokyo: PLS Hamadayama School

Osaka: Osaka Shashin Kaikan 5F 

*To be held with a minimum of 5 participants.

*As a precautionary measure, this event will be limited to 10 participants.

Seminars 1 and 2 will focus as much as possible on “hands-on” practice, simulating classroom scenarios, and covering all the essentials of the PLS System®. Seminar 3 will cover topics not included in Seminars 1 & 2 and feature advanced-level content.

*Seminar 3 will be held once per year in Tokyo (spring) and Osaka (autumn).
